Barometer Trading, LLC is an Equity Long/Short Fund that has been outperforming its benchmark peers by over 29% for 61 months and counting. William C. Feeley, a former senior Investment Banker, Head of Coroprate Finance, Head of Equities, Head of Capital Markets & Head of Syndicate for firms large and small is the Founder & CEO.
Barometer Trading leans towards Value and focuses on Capital Preservation first, and Capital Appreciation second. Investments are made upon a combination of fundamental and technical assessment and are broadly diversified across asset classes, geography, and sectors but at times, high conviction positions are meaningfully overweighted. Single name equity options, sector ETF options and broad index options are utilized to manage risks, exposure and income. Macro themes are important at times to Mr. Feeley.
The history of Barometer is that it initially hired and trained six Associate Analysts & Traders, five of whom were formerly incarcerated individuals because we believe in prisoner education and re-entry opportunities. They became successful investors and traders!
They made contributions to outperforming Wall Street's Benchmark for Equity Long/Short funds for 2 ½ years.
Absent attracting meaningful investments from Endowments & Foundations that supported prison education initiatives, we eliminated those positions and have refocused solely on running an exceptional, All-Weather, Equity Long/Short Strategy.
